Month in Review-November 2014

November was a good month.  I had a little time off during the month and had a little staycation.  My parents were out of town during that same time so I had some quiet time at home.  I discovered that when you don't have to go to work all day it is much easier to enjoy cooking and cleaning at home. It was fun to plan out a menu for the week that my parents were out of town and then to cook for my sister and brother.  They helped out a lot and we had a great time at home by ourselves.  We missed our parents though.   They were able to have a great vacation in Hawaii and when they asked what I wanted them to bring home for me from Hawaii I told them I wanted the beach.  They brought it to me.  I love my little beach.

I ended up in a partial cast halfway through the month.  I have been experiencing a lot of pain in my right hand and wrist.  I was told I have carpal tunnel and needed to have surgery.  I went and got a second opinion after reading that surgery should be the last resort and there are several things to try first.  Thankfully the second doctor had a different diagnosis.  I have severe tendonitis in my right thumb and the very early stages of carpal tunnel plus something else in my right wrist called TFCC Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex. We decided to treat the tendonitis first since that is causing the most pain.  This required a special cast that I have to wear for 4 weeks.  It is removable so I can shower without it and I am able to take it off and stretch for an hour each day.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  My favorite meal of all time is Thanksgiving dinner.  Last year I learned how to do the dinner on my own.  This year my mom was feeling a lot better so I just helped.  I love being able to help my mom in the kitchen.  She is an amazing cook and I have learned a lot from her.

Yummy turkey!
I also had a wonderful time with my three favorite kids.  Ethan and Ella each had a sleepover during the month.  Ella enjoyed a night with the girls doing make-up and painting nails.  Then we took some pictures of Ella all dressed up.  She is such a beautiful little girl and I love her so much.  For Ethan's weekend I ended up not feeling well so I missed out on some of the fun.  Apparently a huge Nerf battle took place.  In the morning I spent some time with Ethan just talking and playing games.  He is such an intelligent boy and I love talking to him.  We also enjoy playing video games together.  Later in the afternoon the girls (Ella and June) came over and we had a great time just playing together.

Nap Time---not really it was just fun to lay on pillows together.

Overall November was a month spent with the family and I loved every minute.  Family is so important to me and I love that everyone is close.  We will get to spent more time together over the holidays and I look forward to December and Christmas.  It will be so much fun.
