My First Computer

After 10 years of working with computers in one way or another, now as a Data Coordinator for the company where I have worked for the past 10 years, I finally purchased my own computer. I have tried for the past two years to purchase one but I am picky. I knew I wanted a laptop. I knew what programs and specifications I wanted and I knew I wanted a fun color, not just black. Why a laptop and not a desktop? Ever since I saw "You've Got Mail" I have wanted a laptop. I know that is a silly thing but something about watching Meg Ryan's character using her laptop struck me. I love the sound of the keys on the laptop keyboard. It's a different sound than a regular keyboard. Besides, you can travel with a laptop. And since I do a lot of travelling, uh not really but I would like to. Now when I do travel I can take my laptop with me and watch my very own inflight movies. As if that is the most important reason to have a computer. For someone who is very afraid to fly but absolutely loves to travel it is. I need a distraction so that I don't sit there and worry that I may be a part of the next real life episode of "Lost". So my search for a laptop began with "You've Got Mail". My beautiful blue laptop came on Wednesday this week. It was like Christmas morning for me. I ripped open the box and gently pulled out my beautiful, silver and blue laptop. And thus began the late nights working, playing, planning and dreaming on my very own computer.
